1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Lines Tracking website at https://www.linestracking.com and its browser plugin (the “Service”). “Lines Tracking”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of this service. “You” refers to the person using the Service or the organization they are authorized to represent.
Our Privacy policy explains how information is handled. It is separate from permission to process data: using the website does not by itself provide consent for any processing that legally requires a separate choice.
2. What the Service provides
Lines Tracking helps you identify or select a container carrier, keep tracking numbers in a private account, and open a carrier’s official tracking entry. It also presents information about container ships, ports, routes, voyages, schedules, and reported ship positions.
Public searches and opening official tracking do not require an account. Saving tracking numbers, notes, and favorites, or connecting account features in the plugin, requires an account.
We do not carry or arrange carriage of your goods, issue transport documents, act as the carrier’s agent, or control customs clearance, delivery, or the carrier’s systems. Cargo status is checked on the carrier’s website. We do not promise continuous shipment monitoring, arrival alerts, or a saved cargo-status history.
3. Information and tracking limits
Carrier identification is a suggestion and may be incomplete or incorrect. Check the selected carrier, tracking number, and number type before using the result. A successful identification does not prove that a shipment exists or that you are authorized to access it.
Shipping information comes from external sources and may be delayed, missing, duplicated, or corrected. Planned dates differ from actual events. A reported ship position does not locate a container or confirm that particular goods are aboard. Coverage and update frequency vary by source.
Verify information that affects bookings, customs declarations, payments, delivery commitments, or other important decisions directly with the responsible carrier, port, or other authorized party. The Service is not a guarantee of transport performance or a substitute for official documents.
4. Your account and access
Use an email address that you control. Email verification is used to create or access an account. Keep verification codes, your mailbox, browser sessions, and plugin connection credentials secure. Do not share codes or allow unauthorized use of your account.
If you use the Service for an organization, you must have authority to act for that organization and to submit its information. You are responsible for the information and actions you submit through your account.
Sign out on shared devices. Signing out revokes the current website session and the plugin connections associated with that session. Closing the account disables the account and revokes its sessions and connected plugin credentials.
5. Numbers, notes, and favorites
Only submit tracking numbers, notes, and other information that you are permitted to use and disclose for the requested purpose. Do not put passwords, payment details, sensitive personal information, or unnecessary information about other people into notes.
You retain any rights you have in your submitted information. You authorize us to store and process it as needed to provide the features you request, including saving, editing, displaying, identifying carriers, and opening official tracking. This does not transfer ownership of your content to us.
Keep your own copies of information that is important to your business. Saved lists and favorites are convenience features and are not your transport records or a guaranteed backup service.
6. Permitted and prohibited use
You may use the Service for lawful personal and business shipping activities. You must comply with laws that apply to your use and with the terms of third-party sites you visit.
- Do not access another person’s account or shipping information without authorization, impersonate another person, or submit unlawful content.
- Do not bypass verification, security controls, access limits, or restrictions imposed by Lines Tracking or a carrier.
- Do not use automated requests, scraping, or other activity that unreasonably burdens the Service, extracts protected content without permission, or interferes with other users.
- Do not introduce malware, probe systems without authorization, or use the Service in a way that infringes privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.
7. Carriers and other third parties
Carrier websites, external identification services, map providers, and other linked services are operated independently. Their availability, information, access conditions, and policies are outside our control. A link, carrier name, or logo does not imply an affiliation or endorsement.
When you request carrier identification, a tracking number may be sent to external identification services. Opening an official tracking URL may transmit the number to the carrier. The Privacy policy explains these data flows.
Your interactions on a third-party website are subject to its own terms and privacy policy. Do not use the plugin to bypass the carrier’s permissions, verification, or other access controls.
8. Browser plugin
The plugin can act on a number you deliberately select or submit, request carrier identification, copy a number, and open the official tracking entry. The supported actions and carrier coverage depend on the installed version.
Connecting the plugin allows supported account features to access your account using a connection credential. Treat a connected browser as access to your private account. You can sign out from the associated website session, close your account, or remove the extension to stop relevant access, subject to the distinctions described in the Privacy policy.
The plugin does not make a carrier’s website part of Lines Tracking. Check the destination address and result before acting on shipping information.
9. Intellectual property
The Lines Tracking name, original website and plugin materials, and software are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may use the Service for its intended features; this does not grant ownership of the Service or a general right to republish its content.
Carrier names, logos, maps, source data, and other third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable licenses. Preserve attribution where required. Nothing here limits rights that applicable law gives you, or rights separately granted under an open-source or data license.
10. Availability and ending use
Features, supported carriers, data coverage, and access may change or be interrupted for maintenance, source changes, security, or other operational reasons. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security risks, or serious violations of these terms.
You can stop using the Service at any time. Account closure is available in Settings and requires email verification. Closing an account is not an immediate deletion of every stored record. See Retention and account closure for details.
Removing the plugin does not close your website account. Registering again after account closure creates a new account and does not restore access to the closed account’s saved lists.
11. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and shipping information are provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted access, complete coverage, or error-free and current results. We do not warrant that an external site will accept a number or provide a particular tracking result.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service, including lost profits or business interruption, or for carrier operations and third-party outages outside our control.
These terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights. Any limitation applies only to the extent lawful in your circumstances.
12. Changes and applicable law
Updates are published on this page with a revised date. A material change is identified on this page before it takes effect, with additional notice or agreement where applicable law requires it.
These terms do not select an exclusive court, arbitration process, or governing jurisdiction. Mandatory law and any non-waivable rights continue to apply.
13. Operator and legal contact
Lines Tracking is the service operated at https://www.linestracking.com. Questions about an existing account, including account closure, are handled in Settings while you are signed in.
Verification emails are sent for account access and account closure. The no-reply sender is not a request channel.
